1 in 100 Mercedes 560 SEC Koenig looks like a S-Class and A’s wild baby

Mercedes-Benz models from the 80’s and 90’s were known for their unprepared appearance, but that changed completely when the German tuning house Koenig was able to get their hands on them.

Notably, a 1989 560 SEC Koenig, listed for sale in automobiles, weighs only 20,893 km (12,982 miles) on the odometer. It is one of Koenig’s nearly 100 original creations, converting most of later models.

If this is not already clear, the standout feature of this car, as well as other Koenig models are the Wild Body Kit. Both the front and rear fenders have wide vented box flares, and especially the rear one has an angle that is not too different from the rear hunch of the Ferrari Testarosa. In the sedan version of this car, the 560 SEL Koenig, these fenders had the same side strokes as the Italian supercars.

Back in this car, though, the body kit includes new bumpers and side skirts, a rear spoiler, new exhaust tips and Koenig badge. An additional grille is also included in the sale that matches the color of the car and replaces the Mercedes Star with the Koenig Specials “KS” logo. We personally think the original grille looks better (which is probably the one in the car) but the color matching must match the wild nature of the body kit.

Inside, the blue leather interior features a new wood-trimmed steering wheel, Koenig gauge and floor mats, as well as piped leather door cards. Underneath the hood of this Mercedes is the stock 5.5-liter V8, which makes a decent 275 hp (279 PS / 205 kW) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm). This power is transmitted through an automatic transmission to the 335 mm-wide rear wheel, enabling the car to reach 60 mph (96 km / h) from stagnation in 6.8 seconds at a maximum speed of 149 mph (240). Km / h).
