Everrati today announced the specifications of its electric GT40. Powered by two rear wheels, the car is perfect for enthusiasts who want the best of the past and present.
This version was released 11 months after Everrati announced a partnership with Superperformance using the new internal combustion engine and electric versions of the GT40 using “consistent” quality parts. The build quality is such that it will be the only electric GT40 listed in the official Shelby registry.
“Future-proofing a GT40 legendary car is both a privilege and a challenging task,” said Mike Kerr, Everrati’s director of engineering. “Quality and authenticity are paramount at every stage. That’s why at Everrati, we emphasize controlling the entire design and development process using documented and OEM-derived practices. “

Powered by twin radial flux permanent magnet electric motors, the GT40 rear wheels can receive 800 hp (597 kW / 811 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This allows the car to sprint in less than four seconds at 60 mph (96 km / h) and at 125 mph (201 km / h).
Its 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, meanwhile, is located between the driver’s back (where the engine used to be) and the side seal. This keeps the center of gravity low and helps the electric GT40 achieve a weight distribution of 40/60 F / R, which is favorably compared to the 38/62 F / R distribution of the original car. Fast charging allows it to go from 20 to 80 percent in 45 minutes and its range is more than 125 miles (201 kilometers).
It’s not a stunning range, but it does mean that the car has not become an extra heavyweight. Despite having a battery pack, the Everrati’s electric GT40 weighs just 2,910 pounds (1,320 kg), which is 104 pounds (47 kg) less than a car when it was full of gas and racing in Le Mans in the 60’s.
In an effort to bring drivers closer to the real experience of the GT40, Everrati has added a “race mode” with some interesting features. Selecting the mode activates two sound generators that deliver synthetic V8 exhaust sound up to 110 dB, which is almost as loud as a rock concert. In-seat transducers help the driver to immerse themselves in the classic sound. That, in turn, is connected to the shift lever in the car. Developed using technology from the high-end racing simulator, it allows drivers to “change gears”, providing a temporary break in power and sound between “shifts”.
The user display from a motorsport, meanwhile, provides the driver with extensive live data about the state of the powertrain. An onboard 4G data logger may allow Everrati engineers to diagnose any problems with the owner’s permission.
“Everrati’s engineering team is very proud to have built the only GT40 EV in the world listed on the official Shelby Registry,” Kerr said. “Our advanced driver-centric visceral engagement technology will enable drivers to access a fully immersed hearing experience and revive the romance of the era where GT40 dominated Le Mans 24 Hours in the 1960s, a new era of zero-emission electrical mobility.”
The price of the electric GT40 has not been disclosed, but Everrati says its order book is open to customers interested in commissioning the model.
