Inspired by the Citroen concept, the adventurous My Amy Buggy Limited Edition has been launched.

Citroën My Ami Buggy has unveiled a special edition of last year’s concept-inspired electric quadricycle, which comes with a fabric roof and adventurous bits as well as metal doors. The model will be produced in a limited number of 50 units, reserved for all French markets.

The production version of My Ami Buggy is not as glamorous as the idea, but it still includes some great features that make it ready for adventure.

The plastic body panels are painted khaki, with yellow accents, metal tuning instead of doors, a removable gray fabric roof and a new set of 14-inch wheels painted gold. It also gets plastic cladding on the bumper, fender and side seals, as well as a new trim around the headlights and taillights to make it look more crossover-ish.

The roof, made of waterproof and UV-resistant fabric, can be manually disassembled with span fasteners and can be fitted to the back of the seats when it is rolled. Exactly the same part is expected to be used in the rumored Fiat Topolino which will be the siblings of Citroën Ami and Opel Rocks-e.

The gripy off-road tires and protective metal components of the concept are gone, but not that anyone would ever think of taking an Ami off-road. Regular tires are also good for the 43 mile (70 km) electric range in the base model. The My Ami Buggy comes with a standard 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and an 8 hp (6 kW / 8 PS) electric motor with no mechanical changes.

Inside the cabin we find yellow accents on storage bins, bag hooks and door opening straps, as well as yellow stitches on black seats and yellow stitches on floor mats. Each My Ami Buggy number will be given and there will be a “My Ami Buggy Ultra Limited Edition” plate on the dashboard. By adding a message to the front, owners will be able to personalize their vehicles.

Sales of the My Amy Boogie will begin in France on June 21, and delivery will begin on August 8. Citroয়েn did not disclose the price, nor did it specify the possibility of exporting the special edition to another market, but Urig Drus, managing director of Citroën UK, said: There is a possibility of seeing a future version. “
