McLaren has created just 106 examples of speedtails but in the last 18 months, several used cars have hit the market and at the upcoming indie 2022 auction of McCoom, yet another speedtail auction will cross the block.
This special speedtail ranks 87th out of 106 units built and because it is located in the United States it was imported under a ‘show or display’ discount, which means it can run up to 2,500 miles per year. It currently has 275 miles (442 km) on the watch and is expected to sell for between $ 2.8 million and $ 3 million.

Like all other SpeedTells, the original owner of the car, McLaren, had the opportunity to customize it through a special operation and chose to paint it in Heritage Gloss Steel Blue with machined aluminum exterior badges. We think the color of this paint matches the futuristic, spaceship-like design of the Hyper-GT to T, and complements the glossy silver wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires nicely.
The cabin of the car is as attractive as the exterior and is bathed in semi-aniline metallic blue silver leather contrasting with the orange piping and an orange part on the steering wheel, which provides speedtail with the color of Gulf Oil.
Other key features of the car include a carbon-ceramic disc brake, a carbon fiber steering wheel, billet titanium pedal shifter, a silver-painted brake caliper and a rear-facing camera in place of the traditional wing mirror.
Powering the McLaren Speedtel is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that is mated to a hybrid system and pumps a combined 1,035 hp. The powertrain is powered by rear wheels and works in conjunction with a seven-speed Graziano dual-clutch transmission, which gives the car enough jolt to hit at 250 miles (403 km / h).
