The wait for the Mercedes-AMG One has been long but it seems the production version is now ready for unveiling, with the official launch date set for June 1. AMG announced the news on Instagram with a video teaser of Hypercar.
The Mercedes-AMG Project One was unveiled in 2017 in concept form, but five years later we still haven’t seen the production model. After several delays during the unveiling and development, Mercedes has released photos and videos of the light camouflage prototype, showing off evolutionary aerodynamics. The final teaser is dark but thanks to reflective tape (or LEDs?) We can see the front and rear fender shapes, roof lines, and large roof-mounted scoops transforming into a central fin.

The result looks quite dramatic in terms of proportions, the huge Aero makes it look like a racer, although the Mercedes-AMG One will be a road legal machine. We know from the concept that the hybrid powertrain combines an F1-derived turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 Rive 11.000 rpm and four electric motors. Combined output will exceed the 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS) mark, making it the most powerful car in Mercedes history.
Mercedes will build just 275 units of the Hypercar, each already sold for $ 2.72 million. Recently, Ola Calenias, CEO of Mercedes, admitted that the supervisory board must have been “drunk” when they gave the project the green light. Mercedes-AMG One’s main rival will be Aston Martin Valkyrie, which also uses F1-derived technology. We hope that both of them will be amazingly fast on the track, perhaps breaking some world records.
