The Mercedes-AMG “Version 55” range has been expanded with A45 S and CLA 45 S in.

Mercedes is celebrating AMG’s 55th year in 2022, thus offering a special edition “Edition 55” for various models. Following the launch of the G63 and A35 / CLA 35 in Europe, Mercedes-AMG has introduced the special A45 S / CLA 45 S “version 55” for Australia.

The most powerful variants of Mercedes’ compact range are the perfect basis for special editions. Models can be ordered in Cosmos Black metallic or digital white metallic exterior paint, combined with decal in profile. To add to the AMG Aerodynamics package, the bodykit looks even more aggressive, including a prominent splitter, canards, a rear wing, and a diffuser blade.

The “Edition 55” is standard with AMG Night Package II, which means the grille, intakes, splitter, sidecill inserts, mirror caps and windowline trims are finished with symbols as well as high-gloss black. The dark theme continues with quad exhaust pipes and dark chrome finishes on dark colored windows. As a final touch, the standard 19-inch AMG cross-spoke imitation wheel of titanium gray has a special center cap with “Edition 55” material around the Mercedes Star.

Inside the cabin, a black and red theme has been chosen for the special edition, combined with a dark brushed aluminum trim. The standard AMG performance seats are furnished with red and black leather upholstery, and the flat-bottom steering wheel has an “Edition 55” badge. AMG floor mats are made of velor with red stitching and red “version 55” letters, while slide seals have a red-lit AMG symbol. Owners of the special edition will also get a black AMG indoor car cover with a silver AMG logo

The CLA 45 S and A45 S are fitted with the most powerful version of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 415 hp (310 kW / 421 PS) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent on four wheels via a 4MATIC + system with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and state-of-the-art AMG torque control system that features a drift mode. The A45 S can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 3.9 seconds, while the CLA 45 S requires 4.0 seconds. Both have electronically limited top speeds of 270 km / h (167 mph).

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S and CLA 45 S did not specify the “Edition 55” number that would be offered for sale. The models will arrive at Australian dealerships by the end of 2022, with prices announced near launch in the market.
