The Bentley Flying Spur S completes the S model family that will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The sporty variant of the luxury sedan is available in both V8 and hybrid forms. Those who want the Sportier W12 model can choose the range-topping speed model.
Interestingly, this is not the first time we have seen the Flying Spar S. During the launch of the Continental GT and GTC S last week, a video of the model was mistakenly posted on Bentley’s official website. Still, we’re talking about a new trim level so don’t expect too many visual differences from existing members of the Flying Spar Range.

Externally, the S is characterized by black luminous objects all around the bodywork (grill, intakes, side gills, mirrors, tailpipes, etc.) except for Bentley ornaments, badges and letters. More importantly, the S is distinguished by two unique alloy wheel options with a 21-inch or 22-inch diameter, red brake caliper and S badge on the front fender. Last but not least the headlights and taillights are colored for a sporty look.
Inside the cabin, the steering wheel, gear knobs and seats have handmade leather with suede-like dynamics. The sports seat is fluted with optional quilting and embroidered with S badge or Bentley Wings headrest. Other details include Continental GT Speed, the S badge on the dashboard, and new graphics for the instrument cluster borrowed from the illuminated Bentley S tradeplate.
Unlike the Continental GT and Bentayga, where the S variant is only available with the V8 engine, the Flying Spur offers an alternative between the S V8 and the hybrid (PHEV). The former is paired with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 550 PS and 770 Nm of torque, allowing a maximum speed of 0-100 km / h (0-62 mph) and 198 mph in 4 seconds. The hybrid combines the 2.9-liter V6 with an electric motor that produces 536 hp (544 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, completing the 0-100 km / h (0-62 mph) sprint in 4.1 seconds. However, it also gets the title of a 41 km (26 miles) EV range and the most efficient Bentley.
The above figures are identical to the non-S models, but the sporty nature of the luxurious sedan is enhanced by the standard electronic all-wheel steering with the Bentley Dynamic Ride 48V system and S badge. Additionally, the V8 model gets a redesigned sports exhaust when owners of the Hybrid S have to settle for a simple “sound enhancement” while in sport mode.
The full S range of models (Continental GT / GTC S, Flying Spur S, Bentayga S), will appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on 23-26 June 2022, with less riding models joining the famous mountain climb.
